Goodbye Buick by Jessica Wildman

This week I bid a final farewell to my beloved Buick Century, sold for $226 scrap value.

The velour interior was repurposed into display pillows, and the backseat cushions were gilded with imitation gold leaf, pieces that were part of An Altar for Things Being Felt at Hatch Hamtramck in December, 2018.

It’s bitter sweet; I think there’s much more magic that could’ve been made from this old car, but I welcome the freed up space in the driveway and the mental space for new imaginings.
